Many of you probably couldn’t make it to our live pop-up concert at the Tate Modern in London on June 12 and 13 for agit8, but never fear - we’ve recorded many of the performances and will be rolling them out for you to listen to over the next few weeks.
The musicians covered some of their favorite protest songs during the event – so if you haven’t heard of the artists, chances are you’ll have heard of the songs. Here are my top picks from agit8:
Christian artist David Crowder, performed this incredibly moving cover of “This Land is Your Land” and “You Are My Sunshine”. He has such a beautiful voice.
It was a huge honor to have Jessie J be a part of our agit8 event – she’s a really popular global pop singer and you may have heard on the radio. “Please sign up and support,” she asked the audience before she sang “Who You Are”.
This performance of “We Came in Peace (And A Riot Broke Out)” by The Venus Bushfires really spoke to me. I loved her stage presence and the interesting drum that she was playing. Really easy to like:
