To help make the US budget process more open, Senate Budget Committee Chairman Senator Patty Murray is asking Americans to weigh in on government investments and programs that matter to us most. Chairman Murray wants to make sure that it’s not just politicians and bureaucrats making decisions in a vacuum, but American citizens, too – especially as our nation works to tackle our budget and economic challenges.
You can make your voice heard by submitting your thoughts to MyBudget, an online platform on the Senate Budget Committee website. There’s three things you can do: Share your stories about how federal budget decisions have impacted your family, your community and your job. Let them know what issues we should be focused on. And pass along your ideas for how they can tackle our budget challenges responsibly.
Right now, we’re asking ONE members to tell President Obama to sustain the funding that goes to The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria – so this is just another great way to show our government that Americans care about using our US budget to fight extreme poverty.
Kudos to the Senate Budget Committee for creating this platform – this is a great way to make sure that citizens have a seat at the table.
