Action: 66. Time: 10 minutes. Difficulty: Easy
Consider this: more people in the world have a mobile phone than a toilet. And that’s why we’re joining Water.org to spread the word about World Toilet Day, which takes place on Monday, November 19.
More than 2.5 billion people don’t have a toilet. When you don’t have a choice, you have to go out in the open. It’s dangerous, pollutes water sources, spreads disease, and causes thousands of deaths each day. It’s not a cultural issue, it’s an infrastructure one. Together we can change this.
This week, we’d love for you to do two things: Watch Water.org Co-founder Matt Damon’s new video, then donate your Twitter and Facebook accounts to Water.org for the week. Details are below:
Watch Water.org Co-founder Matt Damon’s video in the player above. It’s a cool, interactive true-false game that will test your knowledge of water and sanitation. Then share it on social media!
Donate your Facebook or Twitter status to Water.org for World Toilet Day. With your permission, they’ll send out tweets and Facebook updates with stats and facts about water and sanitation. It’s a fun and easy way to take action. Click here to get started.
Let us know if you did either of those things in a comment below. We’ll choose one person at random on World Toilet Day to win a ONE goody bag.
