ONE Mom Blogger and Parent Hacks Founder Asha Dornfest is traveling in Ethiopia with ONE this October. This blog post is part of our ongoing coverage of the trip. This piece was originally published on her site.
Hello, Parenthackers! It’s the end of Day 2 in Ethiopia with ONEMoms, and we are learning and experiencing so much. Thankfully the world looks and feels much clearer once you’ve gotten a good night’s sleep.
Our first field visit to the Mary Joy Association happened shortly after we arrived in Addis Ababa yesterday afternoon. I’ve described our visit at The Accidental Expert, but I’m hoping these images and a sound clip will give you a bit more of a feeling of what this incredible place was like.

Be sure to stop by Design Mom for Gabrielle Blair’s impressions of Mary Joy.
Today, we visited FashionABLE (which Liz Gumbinner describes so beautifully in her Mom-101 post The Unbelievable Strength of Women), and the Hamlin Fistula Hospital, which was featured in the Nova program A Walk to Beautiful. I’m getting my thoughts and pictures together and will post about these visits tomorrow (Internet access willing).
I’m loving seeing all the #ONEMoms tweets and conversation. Thank you for joining us on this journey!
