Just days after Governor Mitt Romney’s speech at the Clinton Global Initiative in New York City, where he expressed his support of development assistance (including key humanitarian programs like PEPFAR) the presidential candidate was in Pennsylvania…and of course ONE was there to greet him!
Now THAT’S dedication. ONE member Barb Barrar snaps a photo of herself, with Mitt Romney in the background.
As ONE members across the country are attending political events as part of ONE Vote 2012, I attended the Mitt Romney rally at the Valley Forge Military Academy in Wayne, Pennsylvania last Friday.
Arriving early and standing out in the rain paid off, as I was able to secure a spot front and center for the event! I was proud to stand there in my ONE T-shirt and hat in the Governor’s direct line of sight. After speaking, Governor Romney came along the front railing to shake hands with supporters. As he reached me, I handed him a ONE wrist band and said, “This is from the ONE Campaign. Are you familiar?” His reply, “Oh, yes. I’m certainly familiar with ONE.” as he smiled and gladly accepted the wristband.
It was a great feeling knowing that my VOICE and the voices of all ONE members are making a difference. For every engagement we have with the candidates, they will know that ONE is there and we will make sure they keep their promises to the world’s poorest people!
