Stephen Colbert wants you to VOTE!
I’ve always been very proud of ONE’s bipartisan culture and tradition—it is something we take very seriously. We know a couple things:
1. Regardless of where anyone sits on the political spectrum, America’s bipartisan investments in life saving programs is an American legacy all of us can be proud of and continue to support. Republicans, Democrats, and everyone in between knows that small investments in global development are yielding tremendous results, saving lives, keeping families together, and creating a more secure and safe world. We even created a this graphic to show that extreme poverty has NO affiliation:
2. If you want to make a real impact as an advocate, you must be registered to vote. If we are not willing to exercise the most fundamental right in a democracy and vote, how can we expect policymakers and elected leaders to take our advocacy seriously? Our voices matter, and in order to ensure continued support for cost-effective and efficient development programs, millions of ONE members must continue to remind our elected leaders of their importance and immeasurable value.
At ONE, we don’t care what your partisan leanings are, but we do want you to register to vote and cast your ballot on Election Day. We will continue to work with elected leaders from both parties to ensure, because fighting extreme poverty is truly the ONE thing we can all agree on.
