ONE Act a Week: Click a button, change a child’s life (seriously!)

Action: 48. Time: 2 minutes. Level of difficulty: Easy.

I’m so excited to share this action from our friends at CURE — an organization that helps children with physical disabilities in the developing world — this week. Their new 1 Child Challenge to raise money for surgeries for these children is not only awesome, but ridiculously easy.

All you need to do is follow the story of one of the children, and a donor will give $1 to that child’s surgery. You’ll get updates before, during, and after a surgery that will change that child’s life forever so that you can share the experience with your friends.

I decided to follow the story of Justice, pictured to the left. He was burned in an accident when he was 6, and is now finding it hard to make friends because of his scars. Doctors can perform an operation to help restore his appearance, but it will cost $2,000. So far, more than $200 has been raised — so progress is being made!
