We just came back from delivering 117,000 petition signatures and 7,500 postcards — from Americans who want to see global agriculture at the top of President Obama’s agenda at this weekend’s G8 Summit — to USAID Administrator Raj Shah a couple of hours ago. USAID is one of the biggest planners around the White House’s strategy on food security and global agriculture at this year’s G8 Summit, and they’re also the main implementers for these programs on the ground — so we’re glad to have our petition and postcards in their hands.
Here are some photos of our big delivery today, from start to finish:

On the walk to USAID’s building, we spotted our ONE Street Tweet messages on Pennsylvania Avenue. Dr. Shah also participated in the action yesterday, tweeting “#G8 working to end #Africa hunger @USAID.”

“I support breaking the cycle of poverty.” We agree!

1,000 postcards for Dr. Raj Shah. The other 6,500 have been mailed to the White House.

Our ONE Street Tweet messages can be seen from Dr. Shah’s meeting room.

Dr. Shah enters the room and notes that he can see the ONE Street Tweet messages from the window.

Laurie Moskowitz, ONE’s senior director of US campaigns, presents our petition signatures and postcards to Dr. Shah.

Dr. Shah takes a look at some of the postcards. You can read some of the messages on the postcards here.

The ONE team all together with Dr. Shah.
Big thank you to Dr. Shah for meeting with ONE today, and thank you to all our ONE members who signed our petition to the G8!
