This week, ONE is in Ghana with a team of five bloggers to document the launch of two new life-saving vaccines. Follow along on the ONE Blog, Twitter and Facebook for real-time updates of their journey. ONE’s Jeannine Harvey reports:
We have landed at Kotoka Airport, Accra, Ghana for the launch of new life-saving vaccines: the pneumococcal and rotavirus vaccines. ONE has brought a group of writers, bloggers and storytellers to share their experiences and stories from the field about this historic event, which is the first simultaneous rollout of the two vaccines that will protect children against pneumonia and severe infant diarrhea, two of the biggest killers of children in the developing world.
As we watch the first vaccines administered, visit a malnutrition clinic, and speak with HIV+ women and children, we invite you to journey with us virtually through our tweets, Facebook and the ONE Blog.
Each morning, we’ll post our agenda for the day on ONE’s blog and social media with information about our site visits and some of the people we meet. Follow our daily visits via Google Maps, and keep in touch with us by tweeting your questions or comments to our ONE bloggers and following the hashtag #ONEMoms. Our bloggerswill answer them and share them all with those we meet. We’ll try to capture responses from the field via SoundCloud (audio) and upload/post them to our communities as close to real-time possible.
