Once we arrived at the Apple stores, we handed out ONE App fliers, talked with everyone in line, showed ONE videos, and distributed ONE bands -– all the while signing up new members and getting people to download the ONE App. Nearly everyone in line was excited to watch our F Famine video and download the app. One man in Bethesda shared that ONE is “a great organization that does great work” — and for many people, the idea that we were asking for their voice, and not their money, was a refreshing and inspiring concept.
As interns, we weren’t incredibly thrilled to be up that early in the morning… but advocating for the world’s poor made it all worth it. By educating others and asking them to simply download the free ONE App, we spread awareness and mobilized constituents. On a dreary morning before the sun rose, we were able to find hundreds of people who were excited to join ONE and advocate on behalf of the world’s poorest.
If you haven’t already, download the ONE App and join the thousands of ONE members uniting to change the world.
