Just landed in the Big Apple

I’ve been in New York City for about two hours now. I took the ACELA train from D.C., traveling through Baltimore, Wilmington, Philly and Newark, to finally arrive at Penn Station. My fancy dress pants have been pressed, my BlackBerry is charging and there’s a fresh notepad in my purse. I’m ready for the big week!

Tomorrow, Kara and I start our big, bad live-blogging adventure into the U.N. Summit on the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). I’ll be heading to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s TedxChange event, “The Future We Will Make,” a reflection on the MDGs ten years in. (You can actually watch the live webcast tomorrow at 11AM EDT. Check it out here).

Then, I’ll be meeting up with Kara at Mashable and 92Y’s Social Good Summit, a cutting-edge conference that will bring some of the world’s best thinkers together to discuss how social media can help achieve the MDGs. Ted Turner, MTV CEO Judy McGrath, (RED) CEO Susan Smith Ellis and other speakers will be there to share their ideas, and I’m really excited to hear what they have to say.

I’m going to get some shut eye now, but I’ll see ya’ll tomorrow. Good night!
