ONE response to reports on UK Foreign Office aid spending

Diane Sheard, UK Director of The ONE Campaign, said:

“British aid has saved millions of lives, and has vaccinated and educated millions of children. By law, our aid must help to reduce global poverty.

“DFID spends the lion’s share of UK aid and it tops the charts on aid impact and transparency. The Foreign Office must also ensure that any spending they count as aid is targeted at ending extreme poverty, and is directed at helping the people who need it most.”
