The European leg of the 2010 U2 360° Tour is done and I’m now back in the ONE office in London. It was a long haul, and looking back on it all, I only have two words: thank you.
To my 500 volunteers who managed to collect more than 70,000 petition signatures: thank you. You were epic. 8 hours on your feet talking to fans and at the end of the day you still were wearing smiles as big as your hearts. In scorching heat and pouring rain, you kept working long past when anyone not fuelled by passion for justice would have called it quits.

To those 70,000 fans who signed our petition to end the mother to child transmission of HIV: thank you. Thank you for taking the time to make a difference. I hope to continue campaigning with you as ONE. We have a lot of work to do, but if your enthusiasm for the cause stays as strong as the day you signed the first petition, I don’t doubt that we can make a real difference.
To U2 and the U2 crew: thank you. None of this would have happened without you, from the smallest gesture of helping move my tent case to making sure that ONE was fully integrated into the tour, you’ve enabled ONE volunteers to get out there and make a difference. Above all that, your company and companionship over the last few months made the long days and nights and absolute joy.
To the entire ONE staff: thank you. The few of you I saw at shows and the many more working on this project back in the office are about the hardest working, smartest, and most dedicated people in the world. I’m looking forward to working hard with you to make sure that the voices of ONE members around the world are heard loud and clear in the halls of governance.

Finally, to my amazing colleague Maura – pictured above on her tour-training day in Brussels: thank you. Thanks for taking over the ONE presence on the U2 360° Tour as it moves from Europe, and letting me get back home for a while. I have every confidence that you’ll do an amazing job. And on that note: TAG! You’re it!

Hi Weldon:
I really don’t have words to explain how my day in the U2 360 º tour was and what i felt to be one of the few volunteers working to make a difference and help promote ONE organisation througout my country! Many already knew about ONE, but there were so many who didn’t and I was really proud to explain them what ONE’s doing.
You were amazing and made us feel so welcome… I’m just sorry i never got the chance to say goodbye because I got lost of you guysin the concert!
But now, I won’t say goodbye, but see u soon, leaving my door open to ONE whenever ONE wants my will, and work and I need to say it was the most quick 8 hours I’ve had… ( work for pleasure).
I need to say that I loved to meet all the volunteers and in spite we live so far apart I bet we won’t forget all those faces.
Yes and Viola is right: where are our pictures???
With lots of love from Portugal! (2nd October in Coimbra)

I’m really glad I decided to join the volunteers on Seville concert, although I wasn’t very sure of my signature collecting abilities. But I even got to get some speaking in English!
So, I think I’ve helped ONE, at least a bit, and I’ve gained confidence in my English oral skills. What else can I say? Thank you for a fantastic experience!

Weldon, I am the biggest fan ever of U2 since I was a teenager and have great appreciation for the One campaign. I have been to some U2 concerts in Europe in 2009/2010, signed the one petitions and was amazed with the work from the volunteers. I’ve just learned today that the 360tour is heading to Latin America and, as I live in Brazil, will take some leave and follow the band and shows. I would like to be a One volunteer in the South America shows scheduled so far (Buenos Aires and Sao Paulo) – what should I do to make it? Thanks, Sylvia
