ONE Street TweeterOne of the biggest creative challenges we face is finding ways to adequately express the spirit and strength of our amazing membership — And more than this, to maximize the impact of member voices to push for the positive changes we are all seeking to achieve. Combine this scenario with a message-saturated G8 Summit and you’ll understand why we’ve had to find something extraordinary to do next week… Ahem, cue Tweet the Street

We have been hard at work with some tech wizards to create the ONE Street Tweeter – a clever robot that can print short tweets, tweetetes if you will, (40 characters or less) on road surfaces. Yes – we want to take your messages on the road. Better still, if we print your message we’ll even send a pic of it back to you to share it with your friends.

So, what are you waiting for? You guys are more creative than any of those Mad Men types. Just tweet a message in your own words (no more than 40 characters including spaces) to encourage, rouse, and hustle the G8 to act now on hunger and poverty.

Tweet your message to @ONEStreetTweet or if you don’t do that sort of thing then you can type your message into the box below.

Name *

Let’s hit the road and get heard.

If we shared all the resources across the world, not one person would go hungry.

The earth started off full of everything we needed to sustain life and it was there for free. Greedy, grabbing moneymakers cornered everything of any worth and in any country they felt like,to create what we have today – a failing world with millions starving to death. Now we have foodbanks and soup kitchens in the West and not just for the homeless either. Shame on every government on the globe.

To all the leaders at the G8 summit .I wish to inform you that you never do what is right for the people of the world. There is enough food to feed every single person on planet earth but all you care about is yourselves. There is no need for people to be starving or to be homeless or to struggle to pay for heating bills. The most important is healthcare and care of the elderly and all those who need looking after. You need to do the right thing for once because you don`t have much time. Time is running out, so do the right thing.

This is the scenario in Africa. I know it better for it is my home. A poor man sits on immense resource but he does not know what it is although he may or may not be seeing it. He has no use for it and therefore to him it is valueless. It is therefore not a resource. He cannot even call it by name. What he wants is rain so that his crops will grow and that he may eat. Rains are not forthcoming and he cannot make some for himself so he continues to wait and in his long wait an explorer passes by. He sees what looks like diamond or gold or even tanzanite where the poor man stands and he takes a sample abroad. Yes the explorer’s guess is correct, he has discovered tanzanite. He sells the sample and buys a truck which he will use to scoop the entire resource away and leaves the poor guy still waiting for the rains.
Another passer-by discovers the ignorance in the poor man and offers to sell him some education. Although he has some sense and he can see it in getting an education the cost bars him. However if a little rain has come by, he buys some modest education and speaks as I do for mine is also a modest education with no hope of progression. Chances are he may not be heard by any one. We in Africa are therefore sentenced to a lifelong jail term of poverty. Some of us use the same little education to exploit the ignorance of the majority. If we follow the precept of Democracy, where majority are seen as movers of the day, in Africa it means the ignorant moves or carries the day. It further means that poverty surfaces above everything and what other people see when they observe Africa from above is poverty floating like a deadly water hyacinth suffocating it oblivion. You can hear or ignore me but I know what I speak of.

Technology has progressed but man has not. The rich get richer and the poor poorer.
Why can he ( Man) not see world gains are fleeting and can not be taken with him, when he dies. One world to be shared by us all and enough for everyone. HE (man) has not learned this. Who says he is intelligent ?

One man however is trying to lead the way Bill Gates………he has opened the “gate”…..and hopes others will enter and join him. He honors the word intelligent.
No one should go hungry in body or mind.
United we can change things……. alone we fall.
Lets unite …..power to change is in our hands.
Maybe if we get a message going ..for everyone using EMAIL to donate whatever they can (even a penny)….would be a start…..

Let us stand together and deeply love and care for one another by providing for the physical and emotional needs of so MANY poor people worldwide, helping them to break out of the never – ending cycle of HORRIFIC famine, drought, disease and death; POVERTY.
    GREED is a KILLER.
The earth is the LORD’S and EVERYTHING in it. WE are ALL created individually; in HIS OWN image and we are here to love Him, love and care for each other and be stewards of the earth – caring for the natural world.
This world is FULL of sin, greed, strife, all kinds of evil.
We can be CHANGE – MAKERS; standing up for the poorest poor and making a HUGE difference to the lives of many, many people.
MALNUTRITION is one of the world’s BIGGEST killer and many MILLIONS of children in Africa lose their lives each DAY, due to the simple fact that they don’t have any basic food to eat. Did you know, there is MORE than enough food for EVERY person on this planet, the problems are the issue of wealth, greed and a refusal to not SHARE.
The rich get richer and the poor get poorer.
The injustice in poverty which has been going on for CENTURIES is only going to get a lot WORSE if leaders and governments and people are just not willing or bothered to STAND UP for the poor.
We ALL have a decision to make to either help or hinder the lives of those living in poverty – stricken countries.
If you feel strongly about the issue of poverty, PLEASE pray with me and ask God to work a miracle in this situation and at the G8 Summit. Lets work together and STOP people from going hungry – for future generations to come. :)

Many people prefer city life ,moved to the cities. People must be put to work by what ever means to work on the land to produce FOOD. A lot of arable land is available in many countries lying idle & nothing on them.I think it is very very important. Thank you.

The rich are just getting richer and life for the low socio economic groups is worse than it was when I was a child in the years of the depression. Children in New Zealand foraging in pig bins looking for food. This is supposed to be a land of milk and honey!
The suffering in other parts of the world is almost just to terrible to contemplate. The politicians must wake up and take action to bring about a better society for all.
