One of the biggest creative challenges we face is finding ways to adequately express the spirit and strength of our amazing membership — And more than this, to maximize the impact of member voices to push for the positive changes we are all seeking to achieve. Combine this scenario with a message-saturated G8 Summit and you’ll understand why we’ve had to find something extraordinary to do next week… Ahem, cue Tweet the Street…
We have been hard at work with some tech wizards to create the ONE Street Tweeter – a clever robot that can print short tweets, tweetetes if you will, (40 characters or less) on road surfaces. Yes – we want to take your messages on the road. Better still, if we print your message we’ll even send a pic of it back to you to share it with your friends.
So, what are you waiting for? You guys are more creative than any of those Mad Men types. Just tweet a message in your own words (no more than 40 characters including spaces) to encourage, rouse, and hustle the G8 to act now on hunger and poverty.
Tweet your message to @ONEStreetTweet or if you don’t do that sort of thing then you can type your message into the box below.
Let’s hit the road and get heard.

We cannot have Fiscal Treaty without Growth and sort ESM out!
In the wake of Economics Crisis, We need Stability Growth and to sort out ESM Money Monetary
We have a referendum on 31st May 2012 but it is just a single pack on Fiscal Treaty with no ESM or Growth Stability which we are required under Irish Constitution Law Article 136, but Our Government Leader Refuses to have a referendum on the Article 136 which requires growth and to fix ESM. But he said we didn’t need it, so how do we survive on Just Fiscal Treaty, Wrong not correct,
I wish to acknowledge grave concern in this matter on behalf of the People in Republic and the need for growth and stability in Jobs and Growth to our Economy, but that I have great concern that the Irish People are not being listened to in regards of request unfairly being mistreated by Germany forcing us to vote on a single Fiscal pack Treaty referendum without considering the concerns for growth to our economy, as with growth and Jobs and to maintain and supervised Bank Bailouts from other EU Countries who borrow from Ireland, we need EU to agree upon interest and a some tax which some EU have invested in Ireland, but our Government refuses to Ask for The Proper going Tax rate of 30 per cent, I think they have agreed on 5 per cent which is far too cheap and low, and will not invest or grow better stable economy, MR Enda Kenny has ignored what the Irish People have suggested and put forward to the Government and Some TDS have asked them the same, But he refused to Comment,
The Government of Irish Republican of Ireland State political have not made pledges at the highest political level, indicating in the Wrong direction in which they intend to move together on crucial issues, such as finance, development, which could pose a threat to Irish Economy Crisis in which could cause a devastating blow to our Growth Economy and our Deficits Crisis, for Irish Future and could cause us to default, Our Government refuses to wait until a deal could be done on ESM and Growth For Irish Future to stabilise our Economy.
The government rushed through spending and bypassed public servants, ignoring normal protocols for approving infrastructure projects.
The Irish Government Enda Kenny has being ignoring normal protocols for approving infrastructure projects, like Growth and the need to resolve ESM.
We have not voted on the referendum yet, but the Government has already went ahead with our agreement by starting cuts in Our Budgets, remember we have not voted yet, every day on the newspapers we have been threatened that if we don’t vote yes we won’t get Funding From EU and Angela Merkel and Barros made this Clear on Irish times news papers, we were also Threatened that if we didn’t say yes to this Fiscal Treaty that we would suffer much more severe Cutbacks according to what Mr Michael Noonan who clearly stated this in his words on Newspapers of the Irish times, We feel that the Government is Putting a Gun to Our Heads in these threats that they clearly made in forcing the Irish people if you don’t vote yes you lose all EU funding, and if you say No that you will be punished with Severe Cuts in Budgets, But if we said No they cannot cut the budgets as it is clearly in Irish constitution Law,.

WE CANNOT SIT AND SIMPLY HEAR THE STORIES OF POVERTY, WATCH THE DOCUMENTARIES ON WORLD HUNGER AND WAIT, EVEN IF THE IDEA OF WAITING FOR SOMETHING MAKES IT SEEM MORE EXCITING! IT IS NOT! THE POWER OF ONE PERSON CAN CHANGE LIVES (Mother Teresa to John Bishop- sports-relief), THE POWER OF A GROUP OF PEOPLE, WHEN CHANELLED TOWARDS THE SAME CAUSE, IS GREAT.
G8, ACT NOW, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?

Love one another means to put others first. Why has mankind not learnt anything? There should not be those that have and those that have not. Poverty and hunger could be stopped if countries stopped spending on war, space travel, non-essential and extravagant spending. What could New Year firework cost be spent on instead of fireworks and many, many other frivolities. We need to do what is right to help others and it starts with governments and every single one of us.

Here is a sheet I hand out to everyone I meet:
Defending the INDEFENSIBLE.
Global Issues: Facts and Statistics.
Almost half the world — over 3 billion people — live on less than $2.50 a day.
At least 80% of humanity lives on less than $10 a day.
The poorest 40% of the world’s population accounts for 5% of global income.
The richest 20% accounts for three-quarters of world income.
According to UNICEF, 22,000 children die each day due to poverty.
That’s one dead kid every 4 seconds. And we need to debate this?
Less than 1% of what the world spends every year on weapons is all that’s needed to
put every child into school, yet it has never happened. WHY not?
In 2005, the wealthiest 20% of the world accounted for 76.6% of total private consumption.
The poorest fifth just 1.5%. This makes us all social psychopaths if you lack empathy.
INSANITY IN ACTION
Global military expenditure and arms trade form the largest spending in the world at over one trillion dollars, $1,600,000,000,000,000,000.00. p.a., and has been rising in recent years.(2009). Who finances wars? International Bankers. (Elitists.).
Europe and the United States spend on pet food each year: $17 billion.
Cost to achieve basic health and nutrition for the entire world: $13 billion
Amount spent on perfumes each year: $12 billion. But the stench remains.
Clean water for the world: $9 billion Let’s poison them with fluoride too.
Amount spent on cosmetics in the US: $8 billion. Ugliness goes to the bone!
Basic education for the world’s children: $6 billion. Keep them dumb and poor.
Total amount the US spends on Christmas each year: $450 billion. This equates to
16 years worth of food, water, and education for the world, on a pagan festival.
Initial cost of the US Government bailout of failing Banks: $700 billion (or 25 yrs worth of food, water, and education for the world). If YOU are not totally ashamed by this report, then YOU are insane, amoral or dead. Caused by the current global banking disgrace. One Global Non-Profit Bank and it all ENDS.
So WHY am I refusing to join YOUR society? Read this again stupid.
Basically, all that is necessary to revoke all the constitutional rights of any citizen is to accuse him of being mentally-ill.” Psychiatry is a subjective pseudo-science.
“It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society…”.

13/05/2012 at 12:54 am
for what purpose does the summits permit these happenings, perhaps it’s control
stop this sort of action now. We do not condone the way you are governing this planet you must stop unless
the people will rise like never before. You do not represent the people of this planet. You do not speak for the majority either of this planet be warned, this is not nazi germany, we will not live like that again, so stop trying to edge us to it.
The spirit will not be broken, be warned. Change your priorties. the people are not idiots.

When the members of the G8 turn and face their responsiblities , and stop just meeting and with each other , then maybe something will be done against WORLD HUNGER AND POVERTY .

The next time you have a meal stop and think about the ones that are hungry. When yours is full theirs is empty.

Fora fome!!! Chega de pobreza!!! Atitude já!!!
13/05/2012 at 1:30 am
The One World Government is controlling all of the famine and poverty DELIBERATELY. People are nothing more than pawns in their game of CONTROL. They are full of their own importance, sworn to total SECRECY and living an elite lifestyle of DECEIT and ARROGANCE. They believe that serving satan will benefit them but they will pay the price for their sins. God sees all and knows all. Their days are numbered and their arrogant ignorance will be their downfall. Fall on your knees and pray for this sad world of ours. What was created to be a glorious haven for mankind is now a torture chamber worse than any Nazi concentration camp but still these so-called “world leaders” are being led around by the invisible rings through their collective snouts to their own eternal doom. SHAME! SHAME! SHAME ON THEM!
13/05/2012 at 1:50 am
13/05/2012 at 3:49 am
Humanity, and the Earth as we know it, will only survive if people all around the world are informed about how crucial it is to adopt sustainable agriculture (no GMOs and agrochemicals) and voluntary birth control through proper education; as degradation of soils and water pollution is increasing at an alarming rate, and the natural resources of our planet have already reached the limit.
Consumerism is a serious issue too, the more we buy and dispose superfluous tech gadgets, clothes, cars, etc. and the more energy (oil, gas, electricity) and water we waste the closer we get to our own extinction. Too much pollution of rivers, oceans, soil and deforestation thanks to all the unnecessary goods we purchase and to all the waste we dispose.
Do we really need all this ‘synthetic joy’ to live on?

uncertainty for younger generations. There is no better than now to act together towards
encouraging participation and change in defining and supporting the older womans’ role in our lives”

Hunger is a shame.
Rich countries are to blame.

Money is no longer just power it is also energy. What we do for others also affects us. It is time to spread the energy of hope and compassion for all.

It is time to remember, God says, your starving neighbor.
13/05/2012 at 8:41 am
It is time for us all to start looking after our fellow human beings and provide food, schooling and sustainability for all. We must stop fooling ourselves with silly trinkets and act now. Famine should not be reality and we have a power to stop it. Let’s make this world a better place for our children and children’s children and many more generations to come. We must stop this now!!! Us people we will not take this shame any more. Act now!!! Stop this shame in the name of us all!!!

Why our voices are not enough loud to hear?
13/05/2012 at 9:33 am
I work with anorexia and overeating disorders. We are creating a sick world with an epidemic fat explosion and starvation as a disease, in the rich world and death and hunger and bad nutrition as a mercy-less condition in the poor countries. It is down right sickening in the most true sense of the word. I spent expensive working hours to get young kids to eat or to loose weight. Paid by the government. I think, that the best cure for us all, is to reach out and share what we have and apparently want too much of or too little of. Maybe we all could get better then.

HELP ME FEEDING MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS!!!
13/05/2012 at 10:04 am
Population control despite the various religious objections isessential to defeat hunger and restore self respect to everyone. All religions objections to population control were formulated before humans developed fossil fuel use to its present stage, so spoiling sustainable agriculture and sustainable energy use . The present practices will result in destruction of life on earth once our climate is totall unable to support life. The only hope, if there is not some change, may be that cockroaches can adapt to maintain life on earth.
13/05/2012 at 10:24 am
If you want to stop poverty and hunger you can(we all can) but you must ask youre self if you want to help or if your’re after power.
13/05/2012 at 11:06 am

Make the G8 GREAT and something to be proud of- Do the right thing!
Lead the global transition, reawaken the common sense, and show the way towards the sustainable living that will end poverty and world hunger!
If the most developed and innovative nations of the world cannot lead by example to bring about a world of ethical existence, who will stand as the powerful influence that will initiate global changes for the better?

The hungry are no longer’ way ovre there’. This is a global village we live in, and the hungry are existing outside a hut near you. They hear us eating, drinking and being merry, and long to join us. If roles were reversed, their hospitality would not leave us outside. They shame us. Our politicians are the ones we voted for, so we cannot shrug off our part of the shame. If G8 were to have sandwiches and beer during their meetings, the saving on catering alone would save, oh I don’t know … how many lives, do you reckon? Also, google the Thai Children’s Trust and see how they struggle to feed 1,000 refugee and orphan children from over the border in Burma. Just one example of the need for G8 to get their backsides in gear and DO SOMETHING!
13/05/2012 at 9:35 pm
