Stand Up Against Poverty
Today is the global day of action against extreme poverty, and around the world millions of people will be literally standing up as a demonstration of their commitment in the fight against extreme poverty. It’s the easiest of actions, but when 116 million of us do it together like last year, it’s a profound statement against extreme poverty.
ONE members take part every year, and this year we’re going a step further asking you not only to stand up, but to shout out and encourage your friends to do the same. Once you stand up, just update your Twitter and/or Facebook status to spread the word.

What is it that divides and makes distinction between peoples and nations, neighbour from neighbour, friend, or relative, regardless of race, age, sex, or intellect?
Yes, separates affluence from poverty…. Answer; money!
It takes away purpose, meaning, the sanctity of life, and the inalienable sovereignty of the human spirit.
Of all the drugs known to humanity, nothing distorts perception of reality more than that one treacherous & deceitful concept which is not real, yet which we perceive as substance.
It motivates greed, not philanthropy, even within the finest examples of civilisation, whether as paper, coin, numbers on a monthly statment, plastic card, or purely digital form.
It seeks to conquer and deride, subjugate and bind for eternity all who come within its grasp.
Yet finally, out of the depths (de profundis) in the great slough of despond, will come the solution when in diametric opposition to truth, anger (one of the 7) overcomes it in sacrifice, as did one already for all of us.

We are “all” part of a Devine universal plan. The earth is a place where we can experience “Humanity”. We are here for a short time and the only things that will travel with us to the after world is the experience itself. The earth don’t belong to us, but we belong to the earth for the time being. Through the earth univers is supplying us with an abondance of resources to make our life pleasurable. The earth didn’t devide itself by races, ethnic groups, religions, countries. It didn’t create the haves (20% of the world population) and the nonhaves (80% of the world population). It’s then our mutual responsability to make sure that we share all the tresors of the earth with all of humanity. Water and food supplies are the birth right from every living creacher on earth, the animals aswel. It’s a shame to every single human being that to day we didn’t eridated poverty from this world with all concequence that follows such as hunger – sickness – child mortality – misery – wars – destruction of the planet. We have to stop … TO DAY … the greed. A new world order has to be created that brings respect – love – compassion to human kind and the planet. Every single human being is created as an unique single entity that serves the universal master plan. We are not allowed to try to destroy that plan and life that was gifted to us. To all single people of the world I say it’s the time to wake up. Be grateful for the life that was given to you as a gift. Be only for what you are designed (to be you) and don’t give the responsability that comes with it to no body else as it only belong to you.The forces of darkness (evil) are all those powers that are looking to control individuals to serve their own (evil) purposes. This include all organisations that are deviding the human family in groups, countries, tribes, religions. races etc… . If we want to safe the planet from selfdestruction we have to start know. Love yourself, your environment and all living beings on earth and in the univers.

I think that if we all start having the habit of puting in our plate solely what we eat and do not wast a single bit of food; if in addition to this we eat just what we need and not more; if all try to be a godfather/godmother to a child at an institution, what is easier if we save all we can; And we will be in peace because we are doing what we can, and certainly all together helping to irradicate proverty from our earth because many drops make a see. Nowadays many people is permanently on diet. This is because people eat a lot and then need to loose weight. Why is there not fat people in Biafra ? Because they have not enough to eat. If we simply eat enough we will be with normal weight. And if we do our part and governments of rich countries instead of burning cereals when the crop is plenty to prevent prices from going down, send the remains to poor countries, this, alltogether, will make less and less hungry and unhappy people in the world. This is what I think we can do to start with…

Technically I am, financially, below the poverty line. Own my own home on acreage. Own my own vehicle, relatively new. Have no debts. But then I neither drink alcohol nor smoke. Leaves me with a more than adequate income on which to survive with eye fillet steak twice a week. I would wish this kind of poverty on a Biafran, Bangladeshi et al.

We should do our best to end poverty by way of providing the poor an opportunity to build their own career and not only providing them food, etc. Unless they stand up at their own feet there will be no end to poverty. Donations should be extended to end poverty by way of providing them the means of productions enabling them to earn money and build their career at their own. Only providing them money and food it will not work and there will be no end to it.

Khawaja. I was last in Karachi some 70 odd years ago. Poverty was rife then, and the country is even worse now. Until the monetary system prevailing, and the religious systems controlling the minds, and lives, of so many around the world has its circle broken, then the never ending cycle of poverty for the many will be perpetuated by the few whose vested interests benefit from this manipulation.

I live in one of the wealthiest provinces in Canada and yet we have more children living under the
poverty line than the rest of our Provinces.
Many of our First Nations reserves in Canada are living in conditions no different than many of the
developing nations. They have crowded living quarters due to a huge shortage of housing and
water that is undrinkable. I could go on but the fact is it is a solvable situation held back only by
people playing politics with other people’s lives.
So few non-Native people have an understanding of the history behind these conditions and
therefore there is little support for change from the general population. There are also many
who do care and hopefully opportunities provided by this kind of ONENESS will bring about
the changes required for all human beings to live with dignity by having access to the basic needs
of life.

The leaders of western world have failed tremendously in dividing rightly, the richness of mother earth.
Why do they insist that “knowledge?” is worth so much, that it gives them the right to suck
the rest of the world dry.
Now at the end of this era, they should do everything within their power and teach the world to
share.
We all know the heroes of the 15th and 16th century, were no more then a bunch of barbarians
and pirates.
I wonder what one will say, of this bunch who’s governed the world over the last 50years.

I am standing up with @ONE. Let us end poverty this Millennium and have a loving and caring environment for all. Poverty is a product of crime, hate and discrimination. Let us work together and have Fair Trade for all. Raw materials produced and bought in and from developing countries are selling at a loss, hence the farmers in those areas have no chance of getting out of poverty. Let us encourage our leaders implement Fair Trade for all goods that are bought in underdeveloped nations and developing nations that they are sold at the right economic prices, and that revenue is invested in these areas, and proper infrastructures are built with this we can make the world a better place to live in, a better place for you and me.
Let us fight global poverty, end all wars. More money is invested in guns and bombs. Let us build love and harmony.

We are creatures full of intelligence, knowledge, expertise. We have all the tools which are required to make a better world. A place where everyone is entitled to have a home, food, education and health. So what is missing? WILL… We can’t think that it is normal, that it is part of life to live in such humilliating conditions… We must feel ashamed, we must feel guilty and we must do something. Dignity is a construct that should be part of everyone’s lives!
