Today, as we mark World AIDS Day, I wanted to share something that isn’t often said – good news about real, tangible, life-saving progress. Today, 6,500 fewer children will die of diseases like AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria or pneumonia than just 5 years ago.

It’s staggering to me that with the right support we can make such a big difference and it goes to show what can be achieved when people call for governments to act. However there is more to do—in fact, despite these amazing advances, over 1,000 children are born every day with HIV. It’s a heart breaking  fact, yet what makes it even harder to swallow is that this can easily be prevented through a simple treatment given to women during pregnancy.

Check out the short video, made with the help of Alicia Keyes, and please pass on to any friends you might have that are parents, and share through social networks:

Together as ONE we can make a difference.

A simple idea to raise money and awareness.
A badge in the shape of number “1″ or word “ONE”

Ask people to buy/get and wear “1″.

I think it’s a simple and good idea.

We all have this chance to GIVE back to the children of the world. Take the time to do something. Pledge, write a letter to the UN. donate. buy merchandise that supports the cause. Do something and send me your story at http://www.365give.ca. We can all change the world one day at a time and today is your day. Let’s do it together.

I think this is so important and we all need to be aware of HIV and AIDS. People need tests, they need to know their HIV status, and need ARVS too.

    URGENT
    To whom it may concern

We would like to inform you that we are producing in Channel 10 a TV program “Universo Alessandra” about the fight against AIDS. The program is hosted by the Porto Rican sexologist, Alessandra Rampolla. It will be in air in Uruguay and also in other countries of Latin America next year.

We would like to count with your support providing us with all the publicity material about this fight, basically audiovisual but also graphic campaigns.

    Kind regards,

    Florencia Murias
