The T-Shirt Contest
What you wear says a lot about you. ONE's new fair-trade certified, 100% organic African cotton, African-made T-shirts need to say, "I'm committed to helping countries in Africa and across the developing world trade their way to a better future." But they need to say it in a way that is creative, inspiring, and conversation-starting.
That's where you come in. ONE needs your help to find "ONE's Next Top T-shirt," something exciting to only become a symbol of our work to end global poverty and disease, but also to be a must-have item this holiday season (and something you might like to see in Campus Challenge prize packs later this year).
Now, this is a little different than past OCC T-shirt contests. We're not looking for something with your school's name or logo; the design has to be universal and about ONE, not just OCC. We're also looking for something of very high quality, so we strongly recommend that you reach out to your school's art department to come up with the best design.
Additional Parameters:
Limit 5 entries per school at 500 points each; submit as many as you want to try to win the top prizes, but you'll only get submission points for the first 5.
Designs are limited to black (on white shirt) or white (on black shirt) with one additional accent color of your choice. No more than 2 ink colors please.
Designs must be unisex and will be printed on either black or white short-sleeve T-shirts for men and for women.
Design must include the ONE logo or an interpretation of the ONE logo that retains the key characteristics of our trademarked ONE logo (black and white with a circle). You can find downloadable logos and templates here.
Designs are due by November 3, 2009 at 5:00pm EST. No exceptions.
More details and design submission form available here.
THE POINTS:
In addition to the prizes described within the contest, Campus Challenge students can earn points for promoting the contest, making the top 3, and winning.
- Submit a design: 500 points each for up to 5 entries; you can submit more than 5, you just won't get 500 points for submissions over 5. Submit them to the contest here, and report your action for OCC points here.
- Chalk the contest URL: 250 points for putting the www.one.org/tshirt URL up on the board in an art classroom. Whiteboard marker is cool, too.
- Post the contest flier: 400 points for putting up the T-shirt contest flier in an art building on campus.
- Announce the contest: 750 points for taking a few minutes at the start or end of an art class to tell the art students about the T-shirt contest.
- Art club meeting: For 1,000 points, attend a meeting of an art club on your campus to tell them about the T-shirt contest and pass out fliers.
- ONE an art prof: 1,500 points if you can get an art prof or instructor to promote the t-shirt contest and distribute contest handouts IN EVERY CLASS she/he teaches.
- Make the top 3: 30,000 points (that's right, we said 30,000 points)
- Win the contest: 50,000 points (now THAT oughtta put a dent in Missouri State's lead!)
