The Shirts On Our Backs…

February 13th, 2008 at 11:13 pm

They came bearing gifts. Jamie and Justine, that is. Those who attended the Power 100 will certainly remember them; but they trekked all the way up to Connecticut to Sacred Heart University to deliver our weekly challenge prize. The prize was 100 custom ONE T-shirts that one of our own members designed. The coolest part is that they are all made by Edun Live, the company started by Bono’s wife that makes their shirts from 100% African cotton. In the short time we’ve had the shirts, we’ve been the most stylish poverty fighters on campus and are raising quite a demand for them! Thanks again to ONE for the amazing gift; and we made a special video JUST for Weldon and Erin to say thank you! Huzzah!

Pho-ho-hoto of the Week

December 10th, 2007 at 2:52 pm

We’re not sending out weekly OCC updates and actions these days (figure that you have enough going on with finals and the holidays), but that doesn’t mean that we aren’t still doing things like photo of the week.  There were some fun ones this last week, but the clear winner has to be University of Missouri’s picture with Santa in a ONE Mizzou shirt.

Runners up include the Sarcred Heart University women’s hockey team:

Band Members Sport One Shirts

November 14th, 2007 at 10:52 pm

JBT in ONELast Thursday, I celebrated my birthday with a few friends at a small, local show of my favorite band, John Butler Trio, of Fremantle, Australia. While it took me awhile to realize it (as I couldn’t see the stage until I worked my way up), John Butler was wearing a ONE shirt! A few days later I find that he wore the same shirt for a number of publicity photos, some of which posted on his MySpace page (http://www.myspace.com/johnbutlertrio) and others which are up on his home site (http://www.johnbutlertrio.com). John Butler Trio is known for their socially-aware lyrics. Good to see they practice what they preach!

ONE Among Many

November 14th, 2007 at 12:20 pm

We’ve got a winner for the new ONE t-shirt contest, Scott Matherson’s Design from Sacred Heart University, the one we dubbed “ONE Among Many”.  It cleaned up with 1,767 votes, 54% of all votes cast.  Congrats to SHU, you guys have really shown us how it’s done these last couple of weeks.

We’re going to look into getting some shirts printed up fairly cheaply with this new design, we’ll keep you posted.

We received over 50 submissions for the new ONE shirt competition, and simply couldn’t pick one winner. So we narrowed it down to 4, and are turning it over to you to pick your favorite new ONE shirt.
