ONE at MSU tabled on their campus before a football against Western Michigan last Saturday, cleverly enticing passers-by with ONE bands, information about ONE that they could easily stash in their pockets until after the game, and of course, some satiating sweets. People signing petitions walked away feeling good about themselves… and got free candy! Not sure what the score of the game was but this sounds like a win-win.

The Buckeyes are climbing up the leaderboard this week and it’s no surprise. Under Campus Leader Jason Pradarelli, The Ohio State University has been gradually building sign ups all month, holding regular meetings, and they just reported their official ONE Chapter status, executive board and faculty advisor. Newly-appointed Public Relations Chair Kimberly Syron has been turning in the actions faster than we can approve them!
Of course, this picture really caught our attention though. The grand tradition of the Human ONE Logo is all about creative branding and getting people involved, and I believe the seated-on-stairs angle is a new one. Plus it’s our first Human ONE Logo of the ’09-10 season. We love it – what do you think?
Keep it up, Buckeyes!

A warm welcome and 1,000-point Photo of the Week honors go to Raritan Valley Community College, currently #31 on the leaderboard but soon to crack the top 20 if their recent actions are any indication. Raritan’s leader, Angela, reports:
We hosted our first table event on 10/15/09. We got about 80 people to sign up on the ONE website. It was a great first experience.
We placed the table right outside the cafeteria, and had a laptop handy for people to sign on directly into the website. The line got so big at times that to keep it moving we just had people write their e-mail addresses on paper. We are planning a major RVCC ONE DAY on 10/29/09. We definitely are going to strive to get double the amount of people to sign up.

Congrats to Clark University, #5 on the leaderboard but #1 for photo submissions this week. We love this tabling shot because all the girls look so enthusiastic and school-spirited – not to mention warm in their fall scarves and sweaters, brrrr must be chilly up there in Massachusetts!
Way to get your table on, Cougars. And 1,000 points for winning Photo of the Week!

Who says the cold is no fun? This past week, Baylor University’s Justin Kralemann got away from the cares of life and headed to Winter Park, Colorado for Spring Break to ski. While there, he and another ONE member could not help but show some ONE love.
Okay guys, now get back to that Top 10 project!

Musician Tim Reynolds is probably best-known for his many collaborations with the mega-musicians of Dave Matthews Band. However, last week, he also became known as a supporter of ONE when Caitlin Hillman of the University of Iowa banded him before a show and he wore it the entire time he played.
Big congratulations to Caitlin AND U. of Iowa for their first Photo of the Week win!

The guy snapping everybody’s pictures at the Power 100 Summit was Hassan Barzani from the University of Texas in San Antonio, so it’s fitting that he should win our Photo of the Week 1,000-point prize. This group shot was taken at the end of the Summit on Sunday, and all those present had a lot of fun posing for it.
The UT-San Antonio Road Runners have been running up the Leaderboard steadily thanks to Hassan’s photo submissions, and we’re expecting great things from them next year. Great work, Hassan!

Although really the entire Power 100 deserves credit for this shot, it was Guergana Botchoukova from Bentley College who was first to submit a photo of the ONE logo on the ice from Saturday night, and gets out 1000 point Photo of the Week prize.
Just like Jake Sasseville’s plane tickets, sometimes these things go to the ones who want them most – so don’t be caught lying down (get it? Lying down? Like in the photo?….oh, nevermind).
Anyway, Bentley is making a rapid climb up our Leaderboard this week. They’re at the top for most points in a week, and if I’m not mistaken, have jumped a few spots to become #16 right on Webster’s heels.
Keep it up, Bentley!

Atlanta became a “City of ONE” last week with a little help from Audrey Ruark and Karen Heilmann of Kennesaw State University – which powers into our top 10 this week on the OCC leaderboard.
Remember the top 10 schools get $1,000 each to create global anti-poverty programs on their campuses, so this is definitely where you all want to be. Congrats, Kennesaw!
Also present at the Atlanta “City of ONE” declaration were representatives from CARE, RESULTS and Bread for the World, the Archdiocese of Atlanta, a few Atlanta City Council Members and about 15 other ONE members from the area.
Oh, and our very own Chris Berg also made an appearance. We’re betting he didn’t drive down, though.

The Baylor Bears reached for the sky this week to take the 1,000-point Photo of the Week prize. Baylor is a hot contender this year, currently sitting in second place on our leaderboard. They picked up a weekly challenge win early on with a great entry in our T-shirt design contest, and have been going strong ever since.
This photo is cool because it’s got color, crowd, excitement and of course that great ONE band above it all. We’re excited to see more from the Bears!
