It’s just getting rolling, so go on over to Facebook and check it out. Make sure to share it with your friends too!

Make Your Own OCC Facebook Application

Tuesday, February 12th, 2008

We’ve heard from a ton of you that we should come up with some ways to better use Facebook for the Campus Challenge. It didn’t take us very long to think up the first step: make something powered by U.

I’ve made a simple template Facebook application that you can customize for your campus. Once people install the application there will be a box installed in their profile that will allow their friends to sign up with the Campus Challenge and for you to post updates on the latest meetings and activities.

Here’s what you need to do to install the application:

  1. Download the instruction packet (PDF) .
  2. Download the template application code.
  3. Follow the step by step instructions, you’ll have your own Facebook application in just a few minutes.

Leave comments to let me know what you think and any ideas you have about how we can better use social networks for the Campus Challenge.

Something is happening. 7 new friends requests, tagged in 13 pictures, and 2 new group invitations, all with association to ONE. Facebook is exploding with new photos, videos and wall posts from the Power 100 Summit. Almost everyone’s status has become something like how amazing this past week has been. Not to mention our ONE Human Logo seems to be everyone’s profile picture.

We are united now. Armed with information and direction, we have an opportunity for every campus in this country to be ONE and every voter to be informed on the issues of global poverty and disease. We can get legislation passed that provides universal education and improve child mortality, and we can put a president in the White House committed to attacking the disparities in our world. The next step for us is to transform all this online electricity into actions and to get others to join us as ONE.

Understand how the ONE Campus Challenge works by reviewing the rules. All participation in the challenge is subject to the terms and conditions in the rules.
