What does a person's religion have to do with poverty or the One campaign? I find that very ignorant and misleading. The video should be re-done to take out anti-Islamic propaganda. Because all 4 top videos were really excellent, and our judging panel was split, we wanted to open it up for voting. We chose the blog as the mechanism for announcing that decision because we wanted to reward those students who were checking in here regularly. We also awarded significant runner-up points to all 4 of the top videos, which we don't usually do. If you'd like to discuss this further, please contact me at emily.stivers@one.org. Again, I apologize for any confusion. We honestly weren't trying to leave anybody out of the process; we figured everyone involved would see the message on the blog. I was really sorry to read your comment on this blog entry - I agree, your video was excellent, I really enjoyed watching it! My understanding of how this challenge worked is that the coordinators at the ONE headquarters watched all of the submissions and voted amongst themselves to narrow it down to 4 videos. If I remember correctly, the way we found out about voting was from the blog entry that announced it. I think it must have been dumb luck for the schools who logged onto the blog and saw the announcement, because I don’t remember an email being sent. In that sense, the videos were reviewed by the ONE Campaign panel but because of the strength of all submissions they wanted the students to decide. I think its amazing that the submissions were so good they felt the need to do this, every video I watched was unique and effective. This challenge seemed to be a bit more confusing on the determination of winners than most. All of the videos were amazing and I'm sure they will all serve as a great means of getting the word out to students on our campuses.
