Do you like jeans, jam and yoga? Check the label... maybe it's made in Africa! The annual Africa Growth and Opportunities Act (AGOA) Ministerial Conference and Civil Society Forum taking place in Lusaka, Zambia, June 7-10, 2011, presents an opportune moment for us to talk about how increased trade with Africa is delivering gains in economic growth and development and the real life impact this is having on individuals, communities and nations on the continent. We know that effective programs which fight against poverty and disease, like HIV/AIDS, promote vaccines and agriculture are delivering results, but we also know the key to promoting sustainable economic development on the African continent is to enable Africans to trade with us, increase their incomes and grow their economies. Join us as we learn how trade increasingly connects us to Africa, and how our purchasing power and retail choices are changing African lives for the better!
