Content Manager

ONE is a global advocacy and campaigning organization backed by more than 2 million people from around the world dedicated to fighting extreme poverty and preventable disease, particularly in Africa. ONE has offices in Washington, DC, London, Berlin, Brussels, and Abuja.  This position will work out of our DC location, under the direction of the Senior Director of US Community Partnerships.

The objective of the Content Manager is to help leverage and coordinate significant content and materials from ONE's partners in the faith, NGO, business and other communities within the US Community Partnership team's purview, leading to high quality content for the team's major initiatives, www.one.org, communications and other programs.  In addition, this position will support the content and materials management needs of other teams

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage, coordinate and produce content relating to ONE partner organizations on www.one.org, including blog posts, partner features, updating of top partner listings, etc.
  • Manage content and material development for major team initiatives including ONE Sabbath and Malaria Griot projects.
  • Manage the process of gathering content and materials from partners and external sources. Synthesize content to complement ONE's campaigns and priorities such as legislative targets, OCC, ONE Sabbath, Women ONE2ONE, etc.
  • Work closely with appropriate team members of each initiative to ensure that content and material needs are met.
  • Coordinate, produce and provide metrics on bi-weekly updates to ONE's partners.
  • Support content needs of other teams, such as Government Relations, Policy, and New Media, as assigned (20% time).

SPECIFIC TYPES OF KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor's degree and at least five years of writing and program development experience.
  • Significant understanding of various constituency groups and organizations in the US political environment.
  • Experience in producing/coordinating using a variety of content, including written, online, and video.
  • Experience executing on strategic plans
  • Strong organization skills; proven ability to successfully manage multiple work streams and ongoing projects.
  • Significant conceptual understanding of US political system, campaigns, issues and constituencies.
  • Superb written and verbal communications skills
  • Self-starter who can work independently
  • Strong sense of teamwork and collaboration
  • General interest and dedication to the mission of ONE
