Title: Grants Manager
Reports To: Director of Organizational Development and Effectiveness

Basic Function:
Reporting to the Director of Organizational Development and working closely with the Chief Operating Officer, Finance Director and the team leads, the Grants Manager is responsible for managing the program reporting for all of ONE's grants. In addition to grant reporting, primary responsibilities will include ensuring that ONE is meeting or exceeding all of its grant requirements and managing relationships with ONE's day-to-day grantors. The Grants Manager also will support ONE's continued development of measurement and evaluation approaches to track results and augment ONE's already established management by priorities and key results methodology. In addition, the Grants Manager will lend support in providing both current and prospective donors with information regarding ONE's programs and results.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Co-ordinate and fulfill all reporting requirements for active grants
- Act as day-to-day contact for program/grant managers on the funder side
- Work with Finance Director and team leads to track progress of grant activities according to grant requirements
- Create standard report templates for a variety of purposes
- Provide support and materials for current and prospective donors, as well as other influencer-stakeholders
- Manage outgoing grants to other NGOs, including the co-ordinate of gifts to other NGOs and nonprofit/civil society practitioners when relevant
- Author grant proposals and grant agreements, when needed
- Ensure compliance with best practices and IRS and other regulatory guidelines for outgoing grants, especially to non-US organizations
SPECIFIC TYPES OF KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Bachelors degree with a minimum of 5 years work experience
- Experience as a grants manager or program manager, based on work experience at grantmaker/s or grantee (preferably both)
- Experience managing and developing strategic relationships
- Experience with grant administration and reporting
- Understanding of grantmaker-grantee relationships and dynamics
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with current measurement and evaluation methodologies
- Strong analytical ability; ability to analyze data, patterns, trends
- Proficiency with Excel
- Familiarity with IRS guidelines governing nonprofit organizations
- Understanding of the key differences between types of nonprofit organizations and permissible activities, especially 501(c)(3)s, 501(c)(4)s, and 527s
- Familiarity with IRS and other gov't guidelines for giving money to foreign organizations
- Experience with development/fundraising
- Strong understanding of customer service/client service
