SENIOR CAMPAIGN MANAGER, U.S. CAMPAIGNS

 

ONE is a global advocacy and campaigning organization backed by more than 2 million people from around the world dedicated to fighting extreme poverty and preventable disease, particularly in Africa. ONE has offices in Washington, DC, London, Berlin and Abuja.  This position will work out of our DC location, under the direction of the Senior Director, US Campaigns.

 

The Senior Campaign Manager's objective is to manage specific projects aimed to deepen ONE's brand within targeted demographics and constituencies in the United States and help devise strategies and campaigns surrounding other awareness raising initiatives.  The Senior Campaign Manager will be expected to coordinate closely with other teams within ONE to successfully accomplish project objectives.  For 2009, the Senior Campaign Manager's primary projects focus will be managing and coordinating WomenONE2ONE and the ONE Campus Challenge. The expectation for this position is that projects will be executed according to plans as outlined by the Senior Director and US Campaigns team.

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as project manager for Women ONE2ONE. Key responsibilities include:
    • Coordinate and collaborate with other ONE teams regularly; specifically communications, online, field and policy
    • Manage collaboration with external consultants on delivery of microsite, communication with advisory board, campaign strategy, creative product, etc.
    • Ensure all expectations for the project as outlined in the project strategy document are delivered in a collaborative and timely manner
  • Manage the ONE Campus Challenge
    • Work closely with ONE's Student Coordinator on implementation of this project, including strategizing on how to keep it dynamic and encourage stronger campus participation
    • Oversee all external communication relating to the OCC, including email communication with the OCC listserv specifically key projects such as the OCC Africa trip and school grand prize
  • Implement, coordinate and support other U.S. focused projects that are deemed a team priority
  • Coordinate with other teams as projects require to ensure collaborative execution

 

SPECIFIC TYPES OF KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor's degree and at least four years of strong work experience with proven organization skills
  • Experience with political or non-profit campaigning especially in grassroots mobilization
  • Must possess very strong writing and presentation skills including high proficiency in PowerPoint
  • Self-starter who can work independently or support others when necessary
  • Experience managing small teams a huge plus
  • Strong sense of teamwork and collaboration
  • Ability to multitask and determine priority projects/assignments
  • Ability to think critically and independently
