US Legislative Priorities: Child Survival and Maternal Health

More than 25,000 children under the age of 5 die every day from preventable and treatable diseases, and about 536,000 women die from pregnancy and birth-related causes. We want a new U.S. global plan and effort to reduce deaths among millions of newborns, young children and mothers by 25%, in the 30 most-affected poor countries by 2013.
