This World AIDS Day, December 1, ONE and (RED) will join together to launch the (2015)QUILT (www.2015quilt.com)- an innovative social media initiative designed to bring people from all over the world together to fight for a historic achievement - the delivery of the first AIDS free generation in the more than 30 years since the virus was first diagnosed.

In response to the Chancellor's Autumn Statement Adrian Lovett, Europe Director of anti-poverty campaign ONE, said: "George Osborne's confirmation that Britain will invest 0.7% of national income in overseas aid is good news. Mexico will take over the G20 at a stormy time for the global economy. Mexico can lead on restoring a truly global outlook to the G20, with Africa as part of the solution to the growth and debt crises that has dominated in France. When ONE co-founder Bono met with President Calderón in May there was strong agreement the G20 should continue to focus on fighting poverty.

ONE has welcomed new measures proposed today by the European Commission that will help put an end to the resource curse that has blighted so many African countries. The new regulations will mean that extractive and logging companies will have to publish details of their financial activities for every mining, oil, gas and forestry project in every country they operate in. However, ONE has also stressed that the proposals must be tightened before they are implemented by member states. More
