Around the world, millions of people who care passionately about fighting global poverty form a powerful force for change that makes leaders and governments pay attention.

ONE identifies critical moments when public support can turn the tide on behalf of the world's poor. At these moments, ONE works with many of the leading non-profit, advocacy and humanitarian organisations to help build public support and provide the tools that empower people to act and be part of an influential movement. By bringing our voices together, we believe we can have an even greater impact in the fight against poverty and disease.

ONE coordinates a broad range of actions, from online petitions to high-profile events. For example, before the Forum on Aid Effectiveness in Accra, ONE members urged development ministers from donor countries to agree on important steps to improve aid effectiveness. At that meeting, the Accra Agenda for Action on aid effectiveness (AAA) was drafted. Reflecting much of what ONE members asked for, it provides more opportunity to hold donors accountable at country level, allows for the use of developing countries' own systems for aid delivery and makes aid more transparent.
