Adeela is a Faith Act Fellow with the Tony Blair Faith Foundation and is working with ONE from 2011 to 2012. She graduated with a degree in International Relations from the College of William and Mary in 2009 and before the fellowship, spent a year working for Project Nur, an initiative of the American Islamic Congress, as a project coordinator. Adeela was born in Bahrain, grew up in Connecticut, and spent the last seven months volunteering in Doha, Qatar.

Today marks the start of Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, when Muslims around the world unite in a period of fasting. Recognized as a month where Muslims abstain from food and drink during daylight hours, this time provides Muslims with the opportunity to seek greater spiritual enlightenment and reflect upon the struggles of those less fortunate.
