Jindal with Matt and MattYesterday in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, I went with ONE’s Matt Flanders to listen to, and to speak with Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal who was up to campaign for gubernatorial candidate John Stephen

After Gov. Jindal gave a quick speech to the crowd, Matt and I were able quickly talk with him as he made his way out room. We told him about President Bush’s efforts to fight AIDS, poverty, and malaria in Africa and about our efforts with ONE to build on that foundation and encourage greater US leadership to save lives in the developing world. Gov. Jindal stopped to take a quick photo with us and I asked him if he had heard of ONE before. He told me that he was very familiar because he had worked at HHS with Sec. Tommy Thompson!

After we left, Matt and I were making our way to our car, and John Stephen and Gov. Jindal drove by us, and John Stephen gave us the big thumbs up!

No matter which elected official comes to New Hampshire, he or she will undoubtedly run into ONE members and supports who are spreading the word about our efforts to rally Americans in the fight against extreme poverty and global disease.
