Rep. Granger expresses her support for ONE in a video
Yesterday, Fort Worth ONE members met with Rep. Kay Granger, (R-Texas), in her district office. We’ve met annually with Granger’s staff for the past several years to discuss issues surrounding global poverty and disease, but this time, Granger wanted to meet with the ONE members in her constituency herself.
After expressing our appreciation to Granger for the bipartisan leadership she has shown in fighting global poverty and preventable disease in the past, we discussed the needs of the future.
This October, the Global Fund is up for critically needed financial replenishment. Although we are acutely aware of the tough U.S. economic climate, we explained the cost-effective value of a full investment in the Global Fund.
Granger listened intently to our request, and suggested she would work hard to try and find resources for The Global Fund.
As the meeting came to a close, Granger recorded an encouraging message for our ONE members, which you can watch in the video above. It’s nice to see that Granger was not only speaking to us, but listening to us.
