kathleensebelius71310Last Thursday, US Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius came to Manchester, New Hampshire for an event with seniors. I managed to catch up with her outside of the event and spoke with her briefly about ONE. As many ONE members know, a small part of the Health and Human Services funds go to the Global Fund to fight AIDS, TB, and malaria. I thanked her for her work with the Global Fund to save millions of lives in the developing world and gave her a ONE band. She thanked me for noting the Global Fund’s work and put on the ONE band and wore for the entire event – and every photo of her in all the major NH papers had her ONE band in the picture too.

But Secretary Sebelius is not the only HHS Sec. who’s seen ONE in New Hampshire. Former HHS Sec, Governor Tommy Thompson, a true champion of the world’s poorest people and the first Chairman of the Board of the Global Fund, saw ONE each and every time he campaigned in New Hampshire.

It does not matter the party or politician, when it comes to saving lives in the developing world, we as ONE unite around good people from all walks of life and backgrounds, faiths, and party afliliation who are supporting proven, easy, and cheap ways to save millions of lives and lift millions more out of dire extreme poverty.
