Representative John Linder of Georgia once said, “I have seen the times when the grassroots has moved the Congress. We listen way more often to our constituents than the lobbyists. And the grassroots are going to have to do it.” Yesterday a group of 10 volunteers did just this by gathering at AIDS Walk of Tarrant County in Fort Worth, Texas. We came prepared with an abundance of signature declaration pages, clipboards, lots of energy, and hopes of getting 200 signatures!!

It was a great opportunity for different AIDS Service Organizations in the Dallas-Fort Worth area to join together for one cause – raising awareness of and combating HIV/AIDS. We were able to share with different individuals how ONE makes such a huge global impact on the struggle with HIV/AIDS. We had the opportunity to encourage those who were currently acting locally in this battle to see the huge global opportunities.

In only an hour and a half we met so many people are were able to secure 276 signatures and invite folks to attend the upcoming ONE Workshop in Dallas on Saturday April 24th.
