Today has been a big day in the movement to cancel Haiti’s debt. Haitian Ambassador Raymond Joseph was kind enough to record this fantastic “thank you” to ONE members for all the hard work they’ve done encouraging world leaders to cancel Haiti’s debt and give the country a chance at a lasting, long-term recovery.

Great job Mr Ambassador! I will suggest you to recommend to the president to allow you to promote Haiti as a duty free (Tax free heaven) to attract manufacture jobs, like we used to have in the past. And you should invite the Hilton or Crown Hotel to open a Mega Hotels in Haiti to host these new investors and visitors. We have to be creative to rebuild Haiti!

I would like 2 buy 100 or so wrist bands and then set up a booth and sell them. I would donate the money to Haiti and take the customer’s email and names and sign the petition with that. Please tell me if I can donate money to Haiti through you or if you can help me in any way to set up this fundraiser.

Alec – as a longtime ONE volunteer, let me try to answer your question about donating to Haiti’s reconstruction through ONE. (since no one at ONE has attempted to answer your question yet)
The best way to do this is to go to the “Partners” tab at the bottom of the ONE Blog page & click on it. That will bring you to all the various orgs that comprise ONE. Pick the org that you wish to donate money to that is doing redevelopment work in Haiti. That is the way to donate to Haiti’s recovery through ONE.
Good luck to you, alec. I can sense a real activist in you & hope that you continue in that direction.
