Yesterday I had the honour of speaking to Senegalese singer and guitarist Baaba Maal after he had performed at a special event here in Copenhagen.
Watch the video:
Baaba Maal, one of Africa’s most famous musicians, is attending the Copenhagen summit as the climate change ambassador for Africa Talks Climate, a ground-breaking research and communication initiative that explores the views of African citizens on climate change.

This is probably one of the most important posts in the ONE Blog because it is not accessing the opinions of college professors or U.S. government officials but is directly going to the SOURCE and hearing from the people who are being hit the hardest by climate change – the People of Africa & the developing world.
Unfortunately, the “real experts” of climate change are those who suffer from it – the People of Uganda & eatern Africa who can’t grow enough food due to unending drought, the people of SE Asia who are at risk of tsunamis, etc.
Baaba Maal has always been one of Africa’s pre-eminent musicians and social activists. He speaks with the voice of experience & truth. We are privileged to have him as a supporter of ONE’s activities for Africa.
Thanks for these videos of Baaba Maal from Copenhagen. They are very much appreciated.
All the Best, debbie
