Every school year brings exciting opportunities for graduating seniors, and the class of 2010 is no exception. While many high school seniors focus on graduating, college applications, work, and extracurricular activities, the student leaders at Andrew P. Hill High School in San Jose added ONE to their calendar. This year, TWO senior English classes invited me back to speak about our efforts and the important role students play in our success.
It’s always impressive to see how students choose to become involved in the global community. Instantly I was impressed with their spirit, imagination, and humor. Through an open forum I shared the success of ONE members across the golden state. They then brainstormed ways they could use their talents to contribute. Both classes came up with unique ideas on how to get the attention of their community and elected officials in the 16th congressional district, and I look forward to seeing how they decide to organize their efforts. Thank you for your warm welcome, and we are all cheering on your efforts in San Jose!
