Stand Up 030

Yesterday I joined Miami ONE Members, University of Miami students and local community members to take a stand against poverty. This year ONE Miami joined with igKnite, a student group from UM to host an awareness event about the challenges of extreme poverty and the importance of achieving the Millennium Development Goals.

Stand Up 020

Throughout the night we heard from several speakers and many different artists, each with a unique message about hope and the importance of effective anti-poverty programs. It was an amazing event and all who attended seemed inspired and ready to take an action – whether it be attending a meeting with a member of Congress or simply spreading the word to friends and colleagues about the importance of this fight to make a better, safer world for all.

Just got back from a rally at the steps of City Hall in San Francisco, regarding Homelessness, with many supporters like, ONE.Campaign, Coalition on Homelessness, and other local non-profit organizations, clergy, City Officials…to make the public aware of the encreasing homeless population, encreasing people thrown into poverty!! And the banks and all their supporters, smiling all the way BACK to the banks…with $700,000,000,000 billion dollars of the tax payer money and still counting, how much cash, Bush/Cheney gave away, but Obama is still following that logic???
