It’s been a rainy Friday. In fact it’s been raining since the early hours of the day. Today Ghana is expecting the arrival of President Obama. Security has been extra tight in order to prevent any mishap to what looks like the most powerful man on earth. Ghana has deployed ten thousand security men across the city– something you would not get on a normal day. The number is complemented by the presence of American marines and other security personnel.

Some roads are expected to be blocked from 18 hours GMT causing a lot of inconvenience to motorists especially when there is much road construction going on in the capital. Some businesses did not open today, while others closed as early as 10am in a bid to avoid the traffic that will engulf the city with the arrival of the First Family of the United States.

Barack Obama, the president of the United States of America has landed and disembarked in Ghana. Today is a momentous day in Ghanaian history. The question is posed, “Why would the most powerful man on earth choose Ghana as his first port of sub-Saharan African call?” The question is answered, because “It is important for African leadership to take responsibility … Countries that are governed well, have a track record of producing results for the people … Ghana is committed to democracy.” Ghana has shown the appreciation deserved and they will certainly reap the reward deserved, which is an important friendship with the western super-power. If Obama recognizes the good government which has taken precedence in Ghana, he should also recognize the essential spiritual importance and guidance that has been instilled in its government through the president’s spiritual advisor, T.B. Joshua, the famous prophet from Nigeria.

Moira, you overstated it (the “rebranding” thing) but you made an excellent point. All you pinheads who keep saying that Obama is the antichrist, find a new religion. Or just drop off the flat earth or something. This president is not only a genius but he has many advantages and he puts them to good use. I commend him for that. Abraham Lincoln, FDR, The Founding Fathers, they’re tough acts to follow. But we may find Obama becoming one of our best presidents in history.
