By Larry Nowels

Today, President Obama and his Administration released their budget request to Congress for the fiscal year 2010. This gives us a look at the President’s priorities for the year and sets the tone for the Congressional debate about how much money will actually be appropriated. The numbers have just been released and so that is what we have posted here. We will release our reactions and commentary soon. Overall though, a $2.9 billion increase in the key development accounts that ONE monitors.

Hopefully you’ll accentuate the positives in the budget and encourage us to advocate to shore up the weaknesses in the budget proposals.

Please just don’t bend to pressure exerted by strong-armed tactics by less successful organizations.

ONE has always set its own course and followed to the tune of its own drummer and quite honestly – if it wasn’t for ONE we wouldn’t have a PEPFAR or Global Health component to our Foreign Affairs budget

so ONE has nothing to apologize to any other less successful organization for!

    PLEASE REMEMBER THIS.

And yes – these are my unsolicited words of praise for ONE for which I am ready to stand by. I do not fear criticsm by those less successful. It only shows their envy of what has already been accomplished….

    AS ONE, debbie :)
