This Friday, April 24 at 7 PM on the Intramural Field at Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina, the ONE Campus Challenge (OCC) proudly presents the 2009 Grand Prize event: a free concert by Vampire Weekend!

Wofford College competed with more than 2,700 other colleges and universities across the United States to win the OCC top honors. Wofford’s Grand Prize-winning project, entitled “ONE Week to Change the World,” featured teaching about ONE’s issues in 29 classes across 10+ majors, a rally and trivia night, an art contest, a film screening, outreach to sports teams, an interfaith ONE Sabbath, a panel discussion on trade and microcredit, partnerships with several other campus groups, fundraising for three charities and advocacy work on two different pieces of legislation. To reward Wofford’s hard work and amazing project, ONE is sending the hot new band, Vampire Weekend, to Spartanburg on Friday. Spin magazine declared Vampire Weekend “The Year’s Best New Band” (March 2008 issue), and Rolling Stone magazine says had the “10th best album of 2008” (January 2009 issue).
