ONE advocacy efforts in San Jose have given us a new partner. The San Jose Stealth, a professional lacrosse team, heard about the work of ONE members in the community and invited us to participate in their Community Impact Day on Saturday March 28th. The Stealth Organization realizes the importance of staying involved in off the field issues such as HIV/Aids, TB and Malaria. The Stealth was incredibly supportive of ONE and similar non-profits in the area.

We were able to reach out to hundreds of fans though the combined efforts of tabling, wearing our shirts, a “during the game” announcement, and the JUMBO-Tron in the center of the field!! Forward Tom Johnson (pictured) had never heard of ONE and took time after the game to ask us questions about our campaign. A great surprise was to have city councilmember Ash Kalra (district 2) join in support of ONE during the event – this was the second ONE event the councilmember attended this month. Thank you to the San Jose Stealth for encouraging their fans to join our movement and inviting us back next season!
