ONE’s own super volunteer Michael Castaldo (Marine ONE) was in my hometown NH newspaper yesterday. The paper highlights that Michael will be one of a crew of exceptional ONE member and staff accepting the Center for Global Development’s 2008 “Commitment to Development Award” next week in DC on behalf ONE’s work in the 2008 president election. We’ll be covering more on the award next week.
Go Michael (and my hometown paper)!
Here’s what they wrote about Michael:
Dover — Former marine and tireless advocate Michael Castaldo has been selected by the global anti-poverty group ONE to help accept a national award in Washington, D.C.
ONE is being awarded the Center for Global Development’s 2008 “Commitment to Development Award.” ONE won the award for raising awareness and securing concrete commitments from the 2008 presidential candidates on combating global poverty and diseases like AIDS and malaria.
Castaldo was chosen to help accept the award for his tireless advocacy on the campaign trail, both in the run-up to the New Hampshire primary and throughout the general election.
Castaldo, a father of three who served as a Marine from 1984 to 1990, crisscrossed the Granite State, clocking more than 2,000 hours and 10,000 miles to press the presidential candidates on global health and poverty issues.
