Check out the upcoming World Water Day events here in DC hosted by some of our partner organizations.

  • 9:45-11:30am, Tuesday, March 17th: Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) Global Health Center and Global Strategy Institute are hosting “Renewing American Leadership on the Global Water Crisis” featuring Sen. Richard Durbin, Rep. Earl Blumenhauer and an expert panel. For more information, go here.
  • 11am-12pm, Wednesday, March 18th: CSIS is hosting a launch event for the “Declaration on U.S. Policy and the Global Challenge of Water” with Senator William H. Frist, Former Senate Majority Leader and E. Neville Isdell, Chairman of The Coca-Cola Company. For more information, go here.
  • 12:30-1:30pm, Tuesday, March 24th: The Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) is hosting “Water: A Conflict in Paradigms.” Rohini Nilekani, founder of the India-based NGO Arghyam, will discuss this topic.   • 1:30-2:45pm, Wednesday, March 25th: Introduced by U.S. Rep. Earl Blumenauer, “Let Clean Waters Flow: U.S. Leadership and Innovation in Addressing the Global Water Crisis,” a World Water Day briefing, will be moderated by Global Health Council and feature speakers from PSI, Save the Children, and Earth Day Network.   • 9am-4:30pm, Monday, March 30th: As part of the ”Year of Water” and with funding and support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, The Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and CSIS are hosting a one-day conference titled “Water and Agriculture: Implications for Development and Growth.” Speakers include experts such as John Briscoe, formerly with the World Bank, Greg Allgood from Procter & Gamble and Ger Bergkamp from the World Water Council.   • 10-11am, Tuesday March 31st: “Water: A Strategic ‘Smart Power’ Tool,” a World Water DaBriefing with the Bipartisan House Water Caucus. Moderated by CSIS and featuring speakers from PSI, Sandia National Labs, P&G, and Friends of the Earth Middle East. For more information, go here.
  • 11:30am-1:30pm, Tuesday, March 31st: The Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) is hosting a light lunch reception and panel titled “Safe Drinking Water: How One Company Makes a Difference in the Developing World” featuring Greg Allgood, director of Procter & Gamble’s Children’s Safe Drinking Water Program.
