Our friends at UNICEF just passed along this great blog post written by Clay Aiken. Enjoy!
I’m Clay Aiken, and I am a UNICEF Ambassador.
The U.S. Fund for UNICEF is proud to be a partner of ONE. ONE has mobilized millions of Americans to speak up about the importance of tackling global poverty – saving and improving lives around the world.
I’ve had a chance to see many wonderful children, full of laughter and hope, in even the poorest places around the world. And I’ve seen the incredible work of UNICEF to help those children and their families survive and thrive. But I have also seen children sick and dying from lack of basic nutrition and medicines. And I cannot forget that despite UNICEF’s work, 25,000 children die every day, mostly from preventable causes. I believe that number should be “zero”– no child dying unnecessarily.
All of us can help to save children’s lives – individuals, nonprofits, corporations, and governments.
So I am asking President Barack Obama to launch a Presidential Initiative to Accelerate Child Survival. And I am asking YOU to join me, by signing a petition to the President.
ONE supporters care about helping the most vulnerable people on our planet. Please join me in telling the next President of the United States that Americans want him to make global child survival a top priority. For more information and to sign the petition, go to:

I am happy to support this worthy cause. Not only do these children need our help, but I am happy to support Clay in any way that I can.
Clay Aiken is an inspiration. He has already motivated many to volunteer their time to help children with special needs. Hopefully our new President will recognize Clay’s value to a project of this type, and will work with him to further this important service to our nation and our youth.

It is staggering the number of children whose lives are cut short by preventable diseases. I was happy to sign the petition and thank Clay Aiken for bringing attention to this effort.

To the organisers of ONE and UNICEF – Of course, I would be honoured to sign a petition to help the children around the world. I have been a member of ONE since it’s inception (although my white bracelet was rendered “unwearable” some time ago, as it didn’t clean very well). I think Paul McCartney still wears his bracelet everywhere. I am happy to learn of another celebrity, Clay Aiken, becoming involved in this campaign. I have witnessed his tireless involvement over the years with UNICEF, and I believe that the UNICEF partnership with ONE will prove to be invaluable to the lives of the many needy children in various countries throughout the world. All best wishes for great success in this effort.

I too, am honored to be apart of the “ONE” project. I did my part by spreading the word and also had signed the petition to help “Children” world wide with this cause. Thank you to Clay Aiken for bringing this to my attention, by writing this blog. What a sweet man you are. I’m so thrilled UNICEF has asked you to become one of their ambassadors in the last 5 years. You helped save “children” and supported them with educational needs. I couldn’t have been more proud of you than I am right now!
I love all “children” … I hope someday with the help of UNICEF and Clay Aiken that all “children” world wide will be able to live a very healthy and meaningful lifestyle such as I.
God Bless you UNICEF and Clay Aiken.

Thank you Clay and UNICEF for educating people around the world of the perils of children in undeveloped countries have to endure. I believe in zero . UNICEF has done a great job in helping children live longer and healthier lives but a lot of work still has to be done.Clay knows this and is always keeping us informed about what is needed for these children.
