Here’s a brief update on some of the exciting activity going on in Ohio
Candidates and campaigns are jockeying in the final days until Election Day to earn votes and get their message across. ONE is also working hard to get our message across to not only voters, but also to the candidates.
Over the past six months, Ohio has become ground zero for the presidential candidates. As the candidates have crisscrossed Ohio, ONE has been there, discussing the issues surrounding global poverty. In the week leading up to the election ONE has been to several McCain and Obama events, each time drawing the attention of the crowd, the media, campaign staff or even the candidate.
While ONE in Ohio will spend the next 48 hours making its presence known, ONE’s work does not end on Election Day. Just last week ONE delivered petitions to the state campaign offices pushing for whoever is elected to keep their promises of ending global poverty.

So admirable that ONE has gotten around the Great State of Ohio (I used to live there). I so wish that ONE could do the same in the Far West, maybe Alaska is a little too far, but California has been terribly neglected. We are very supportive of the advocates in the Eastern U.S. who are trying to end AIDS and hunger. We HOPE things in this country can improve, and we will give more money to those overseas. But California has been treated as the country’s ATM machine, and we are really tired of just being the playground for techies or a whistle stop on a major candidates fundraising spree. We are many middle class voters (check the district vote for the Presidential race, the middle of the state went Republican) who “cling to guns and religion” and we ALL deserve the right to participate in the glorious fight that ONE is waging in the battleground states. Nuff said.

Apparently you are a little to naive for your own good, where do you think all of this money is going to come from? We are getting bail out packages and then selling what we have left in paper bonds to china, we don’t have enough money right now to care about our own problems, let alone fulfill these impossible promises that obama has made. This country is slowly being bought out from our competitors and people expect all of this government health care and mortgage help, where is it going to come from? The only place right now is out of every american’s pocket through tax increases. If people would wake up from their dream world and smell the coffee they’d see that obama has done nothing but manipulate people by compulsively lying and jumping back and forth on issues. I guess four years of him may just be what this country needs for an eye opener.

I’m all for helping other countries in need and offering goodwill to others, but we can’t even do that for ourselves right now so how do you expect that it’s going to get done on a global scale?
