Yesterday the ONE Bus came to Lebanon Valley College to raise awareness among the student body about global poverty. Despite early morning thunderstorms, the visit was a huge success.
Events for the day included a concert by LVC’s own Double Entendre, a recognition proclamation issued by representatives from the student government, and an appearance by the LVC mascot, “The Dutchman”. The Dutchman brought out cheers as he donned a ONE wristband and showed off for the campaign.
In addition to the concert, LCV ONE volunteers set up a table along our main street and signed up 300 new students! Among those new members, many were interested in founding a ONE club at our school. In future weeks we hope to not only create that LVC club, but to declare LCV a “Campus of ONE”

What a world! Made of misery and of hatre. This is the right time to challenge the leaders of this world, because we have the answer for reall change. Let be truthful to ourselves that “God, People & Money” can change whatever that need to be changed, such as War to peace and Poverty to something else. If ther is no one that can deny it, therfore they will have to accept it.
The time for change is now. with God, People & Money we can send them to school, they will have an education, they will develop their knowledge, they will make use of it to get money, with the money after God they will have the power to change what trully need to be changed.

Would it be possible for Matt Damon to do actual research on Governor Palin before he spouts off the lies of Daily Kos in an interview with the Associated Press? The ONE campaign was marketed and sold at the beginning as a bi-partisan campaign focus on the issues. That is why my wife and I wore the bracelet and believed in the causes. It’s a shame that it has become little more than an ultra-liberal house organ. I know this will not be posted as a comment on the blog, but I hope it will be given some consideration.

Matt Damon made an ad for ONE because he cares deeply about the fight against extreme poverty. He helped to draw attention to this issue at a key political moment, but Matt’s views about Governor Palin are his own. Both presidential campaigns are supportive of ONE’s agenda and we will continue to bring both sides together in the fight against extreme poverty and preventable disease.
ONE is a nonpartisan organization which enjoys the support of people across the political spectrum — including Cindy McCain, Michelle Obama, Tom Daschle, and Bill Frist, among others. ONE and its supporters are united in and committed to this critically important effort.
