I have researched both candidates.

If you want funding for Aids, Cancer, research for embrionic stem cells to find cures for all diseases.

If you want a President who is for the MIDDLE CLASS, WILL BRING OUT TROOPS HOME, AFFORDABLE HEALTH CARE, A $4,000 VOUCHES FOR COLLEGE.

The ONLY PRESIDENT FOR CHANGE IS: BARACK OBAMA

Together with Joe Biden they will CHANGE WASHINGTON and get things DONE.

November 4, 2008, I urge all Americans to vote for CHANGE.

Barack Obama for President.

John McBush is more of the same.

This is a non partisan site?. Maybe? but what is being shown has a corporate flavor to it. A religious right flavor that makes me cringe. As Americans.. we have the right to free speech.. I understand I will be flamed fro my reply, but I am worried that Orwell was right, just 20 years off in his estimate.

Glorifying torture, giving tax breaks only to the corporations, while the working class is supposed to kiss the current governments feet for a measly $600 dollar check.. if they are lucky.. Good gods, do we all have to be lobotomized to exist in this world.. Please.. please.. listen to your minds, research every candidate before you vote.. we have the chance to make a difference.. Please ..take that chance, research and study your candidate choices.. make your choice educated, not just a popular, commercial decision.

The US is the leading provider of world aid around the Globe-BY FAR, and it doesn't get us much mileage in terms of international support. Look at the amount of money we have sent to African Nations under the Bush Administration. There is NO other country that comes close and it is the highest foreign aid package to Africa in history. Meanwhile, countries like Russia and Saudi Arabia are making huge sums of profit off of massive run ups in oil prices. Without energy, our countries economy is dead. Without energy my middle class job/salary and tax base will disappear. When I can no longer save for retirement, I am less likely to make charitable donations to the many worthy causes my wife and I support. I am a fiscal conservative. If we can't stop our own citizens from spending what they don't have, we will never be at a place to help others. The middle class is dying as we attempt to make the government a steward for all. Lets send all of our money to Washington. They have such a great (sarcasm) track record of making good decisions with our money. Just look at Federal Education-our schools are so much better... Smaller Govt my friends, smaller Govt is what we need. Our citizens have great hearts overrun by the intense ambitions of those who feel the need to lead

Please, let's not engage in personal attacks or pseudo attacks and whatnot.

Let's not write open letters that begin using combatative language that negates what may be a worthwhile opinion. :-)

We're all adults, and here to advocate for the world's most impoverished people.

Let's be kind and intelligent to one another. :-)

The phrase "happy clappy" sounds sort of passive aggressive and angry, Debbie. Maybe you'd feel better if you were direct? Or are there other ways you could channel that energy.

Since some posters always have so much "happy, clappy" to say about ONE - how about responding to these posters?

I'd love to hear what you'd say to them.

I agree very much Realist, what this country needs is not another president who will just do more of the same, democrat or republican. What we need is a real person who understands why this country is in such poor shape economically and socially and is willing to actually do something about it, not just add fuel to an already out of control fire.

The first and most critical thing that we as a country really need is a president who is willing to stand up to big banks and the IRS. The Federal Government has the full power to issue it's own money and must use this power. Stop taking our tax dollars to pay the interest on the money the Federal Government BUYS from them. This is the one thing holding our country back from being economically stable, and it's a shame that it's for no reason at all but to line the pockets of a few.

I am extremely tired of every four years we hear the same old thing out of every candidates mouth, no new taxes, we will fix the health care crisis, war on drugs, blah blah blah. It's all just meaningless chatter to distract us from where the real problems lie.

We as a nation need to wake up. Stop party favoritism, start listening to each and every candidate and look for the real truth behind their words. The two party system is dragging this nation down in a horrible way. Our society has become so very sheepish that we will believe anything as long as it's said in a commercial or a televised program. It's disturbing to say the least. In the words of Thomas Jefferson, "All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent".

Dear Dimwits,

If you believe any of the BS you heard at the DNC (or will at the the RNC), then you probably believe in the Tooth Fairy, Santa Claus, and the Easter Bunny. Get real. Obama can't deliver on his promises, even if he truly wishes to do so, which I doubt. The money isn't there. You could not only tax the hell out of the top 5% of the wealthiest in the USA, but you could steal ALL OF THEIR MONEY and the proceeds would not even come close to paying for a fraction of what Obama and Biden are deceitfully promising you over the next four years. Four months is a better approximation... The nation is in severe debt. We face a cash flow problem. A short term injection of money taken from the people who have proven to build our economy is going to be disastrous over the next decade or two.

Give a man a fish and he eats for a day -- teach a man to fish and he eats for life...or something like that as the semi-famous quote goes. Obama is preaching the quick fix and he is an expert con artist. McCain is touting the status quo and that has proven to be bad news as well.

McCain is marginally better...it is a case of the lesser of two evils. We can't have our cake and eat it too. If it were up to me, I'd have Bob Barr as President with Ron Paul as VP. Neither are by any means close to perfect, but at least they are realists and do not even try to pander to the greedy masses to the extent most political hacks do.
