ONE at the Echo on Sunset
August 28th, 2008 at 10:35 am | posted by Chris.ScottOn a recent Saturday night at the Echo in Los Angeles, Par Avion Band played in conjunction with a fashion show to help promote awareness of ONE’s ongoing campaign to fight poverty and preventable disease.
The fashion show, held by Beckie Lynn Productions, featured a number of upcoming Los Angeles models showcasing the work of local designers, and was hosted by Scarlett Cassanova, of L.A. club Hang the DJs.
The objective of the combined fashion /music event was to increase awareness of the ONE Campaign among L.A.’s immense audience of music enthusiasts. Paul Avion wore the ONE shirt on stage, and interested music-lovers from the Los Angeles area signed up to receive more information on ONE. The ONE portion of the event was coordinated by ONE’s SoCal Field Organizer Betsy Avila and ONE volunteers Nare Ovespian and Kyle McNeal.
Due to the success of the event, more fashion-music events in L.A. are in the works for fall!

It’s great when entertainment and fashion (two of our principle exports) come together to create a real difference in the lives of others. Yay!

Dan, I totally get your hate.
I once hated myself and others, like you do.
It’s okay, man.

there’s no helping the poor. They breed like roaches and drain our resources for those who would really benefit from them… We need to get rid of the leeches on welfare and re-allocate that money to protecting our borders… Dan, you should run for president!!! I would totally vote for you…

Notice that after every Live 8-style orgasm of do-gooding there’s STILL STARVING PEOPLE and usually MORE THAN BEFORE! What’s especially hilarious is that America itself is being encircled by a plethora of SERIOUS problems, famine a definite possibility among them, yet so many of it’s inhabitants are still hell-bent on trying to bail out other continents in order to alleviate some kind of unearned (or in the very least misplaced) guilt complex that our Marxist (un)educational system instilled in them at a very young age. On the world scale, unless we are to all live like filthy nomads, more people means more housing to be built and maintained, which means more resources to be consumed, which means more garbage and pollution for nature to deal with and, with more food to go around, more reckless screwing for even more kids, which means more of everything else. Someone who isn’t drowning in the emotional Christian conceptions of egalitarianism and “each life is precious!’ just might be able to see where this increased demand for everything is taking the planet.
I’m not going to advocate finishing the Third World off with hydrogen bombs or similar as some others here are, but what is more valuable, I ask? A growing infestation of talking bipeds which have increasingly shown themselves over the years to be myopic, parasitic, and almost uniformly irresponsible, or the fragile system which has supported them for their entire existence? We are either going to cut down our numbers and improve the quality of our speices, or Nature, the biggest Nazi of them all, is going to do it for us. There’s no easy way out anymore.

Christian “right to lifers” are the first to voice their opinions, force their legislation, and the LAST TO ADOPT the children they are forcing to be born. WHY is that??? They prefer to over breed themselves… Have you seen any Christian families with only one child??? No, they have 4-7 children…Why don’t they want to adopt a crack baby or a baby born with HIV? Are these children not worthy to be part of their families???? This is Christian hypocracy at work. Did you know that gay and lesbian “families” adopt children 10 times more often than so called Christians……

Of course Christians are hypocritical, because their entire faith is a passive-aggressive Magian hodge-podge that today bears very little resemblance to its various earlier forms. When I said “Christian” in the previous post, I was moreso refering to the simplistic, socio-psychological phenomenon that results in many Americans/Westerners believing that feeling good about yourself and actually being a good person are the same thing, which they most decidedly aren’t. People like Bono must be either unfathomably cynical or monumentally stupid, because they don’t take into account the “We Feed, They Breed” factor, nor the great scale of corruption that is characterisic of most African governments (The following piece excellently elaborates on this: http://www.corrupt.org/articles/jesus_loves_u_2/
