It's nice to see someone people understand the issues are not always so black and white. In order to accomplish anything the legislators need to have the ability to make tough decisions, some are not going to be the right decision for everyone. Let these decisions be best for the many and not for the few, least of all do not let these decisions be for their own political gains.
My concern is that these are politicians seem to make policy that insures their getting elected or re-elected and do not take into account the best interests of all Americans.
One example: Capital gains taxes sound good too many Americans as a way to get big business to pay up but will only mean a company’s cost will go up and the price of any item related to this rise in cost will be affected. Companies do not take this hit to their bottom line, we do.
Second example: A tax credit of $1000.00 is nothing compared to the affect these polices will have on the overall cost of goods in this country. Who will we blame when George is gone and the price of basic necessities continues to skyrocket?
These feel good policies are bait for the average American to cast their vote for the guy who will give them something at the cost of the wealthy.
DON’T BE FOOLED! Study the effect of these decisions over the long term and see if your candidate makes decisions based on what will win him an election or what will benefit all Americans in the years to come.

I don't like to see anyone just take a friends word as hearsay. I myself will check that out as you should too. Many times legislators vote for a bill to get another bill passed, or overlook a side effect of a bill that has a positive impact. We as voters are going to have to learn to weigh in a lot of factors before we vote for someone. We're not going to like everything a politician does. It's when we don't like anything a politician or political party does that we have to take steps to change. If everyone left the country that didn't like George Bush, those of us still here wouldn't have to worry about congestion in traffic. Check these guys out before you decide who you vote for. Anyone that's been in politics for 30+ years is bound to make mistakes...

I fear that my vote matters less and less. I was informed by a friend that Joe Biden was one of the senators who backed giving the credit card arm of banks such as Bank of America the right to raise interest rates for families already behind on payments for purchases made at lower rates, thus playing a huge role in home foreclosures and the inability for many Americans to get out of a deepening financial hole despite their continuing efforts. Like so many others, I am starting to look at the option of relocating to another country.
